The site of a famous Revolutionary War Battle which involved General Tarleton was fought on the Blackstock farm. The house was situated in the grove of trees.
The emigrant father was Thomas Blackstock, born in Belfast, County Antrim, Ireland, died in South Carolina. His son, William resided in Union County, South Carolina and was buried on the old Blackstock Plantation at Cross Anchor on the Tyger River.
